Are you on the Housing Choice Voucher Waiting List? - Mainstream or FUP Wait Lists
If you are currently on the HCV wait and meet the eligibility criteria, you may be added to additional waiting lists during this open-period through December 31, 2025.
Mainstream Voucher waiting list – for those who are non-elderly (ages 18-61) persons with disabilities, and their families. Aside from this special population, Mainstream Vouchers are administered using the same rules as Housing Choice Vouchers.
Family Unification (FUP) Voucher waiting list – for families for whom the lack of adequate housing is a primary factor in the family’s child or children being at risk of out-of-home care, or a primary reason for a child or children not being able to return home. FUP and FYI vouchers are also available to youth who are between the ages of 18 and 24 who have left foster care or will leave foster care within 180 days and are homeless, or at risk of becoming homeless.

Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) Program
FSS is a savings incentive program for families living in HUD-assisted housing that enables participants to save a portion of their rent payment when they earn more money at work. Find out about this program on the FSS page.
Federal Funding and Policy - 11/18/2025 Notice
SHA is grateful to our partners at HUD for their efforts to ensure that there were no disruptions to Housing Assistance Payments during the 2025 partial federal government shutdown.
SHA continues to monitor federal funding and policy. At this time there are no immediate changes to our programs, and we will share updates if anything changes. We remain committed to programs that provide stability and opportunity for the families we serve.
